  1. ASTRO-ADVENTURES 1 - A black ink and black color pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size coquille board.

When I look at this cover drawing I am reminded of the "good old days" of the early science fiction pulp magazines that are now gone forever. In 1955 I started collecting old SF pulps and at one time I must have had over 1,000 issues. But sadly, I have sold most of them, and have only the 23 issues of Fantastic Story Magazine left sitting on my shelves. I have also sold about half of the digest size magazines that I had collected for years.

I'm glad to see that a few publishers today are reprinting stories from those old pulps. I just ordered some books from Haffner Press who is reprinting the works of Edmond Hamilton and Leigh Brackett, whose stories often appeared in Amazing Stories, Planet Stories, Captain Future, Thrilling Wonder, Startling Stories, and others. I already own the 7 volumes published by Haffner that collected Jack Williamson's works from the old pulps. I hope he continues to reprint more good old days pulp fiction.

Anthony Tollin is reprinting stories from the old pulps like "The Shadow," "Doc Savage," and others. Many of The Shadow" issues feature the artwork of Edd Cartier, and I really appreciate being able to see them now.
